Arches National Park

Project Arches: Arch Enemy   THE CHALLENGE: A sandstone arch is one of the most fascinating geological formations on planet Earth.   There are over 2000 natural arches in Arches National Park located in Utah. Unfortunately, some of the arches are being damaged by vandals etching their names into the rocks. Your team has been asked to help educate your generation about these amazing arches and why they should be protected from vandalism. You are going to investigate how the different types of weathering and erosion have created these magnificent features. Then you will write a blog post about your findings on how arches are formed, with the many reasons that graffiti etching is a tragic mistake. To publicize your blog, each group will contribute one arch towards making a mini model of Arches National Park. Your teacher will assign you a specific arch, and you will build a miniature model.
